Harlem Green Community Garden Expo

The HARLEM GREEN Community Garden Tour, in existence for eleven years, has taken it to another level! This year, August 12-19, we are hosting the HARLEM GREEN Community Garden EXPO! Gardens in both East and West Harlem & Washington Heights will take part in the EXPO.

Saturday, August 12
Walking/Bike Tours (self-guided or group)

Kick-off with Caribbean art & music, 1-4pm
William H. Harris Garden, 153rd & St. Nicholas Ave

Sunday, August 13
Plant Division Workshop with Jennie Benitiez, master gardener, 11am
Jenny’s Garden, 12th Avenue & 138th St

Thursday, August 17
Storytime / Arts & Crafts for Young Children, 10:30am
People's Market 11am-7pm
Prep Demos & Tasting, 12-6pm
Joseph Daniel Wilson Memorial Garden: 219 West 122nd Street btw Powell & Douglass
Open every day 10am-dusk

Saturday, August 19
Walking/Bike Tours (self-guided or group)

"Gardening Traditions" Greenthumb workshop with veteran urban farmer Willie Morgan Our Little Green Acre, near the corner of 122nd Street & Frederick Douglass Blvd

Jazz concert with Marcus Steele & Friends, 5:30pm
Clayton Williams Community Garden, 126th & Frederick Douglass Blvd
