Many thanks to all who came out in support of our community gardens on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. It was a great day, with NYCCGC welcoming musicians, children, gardeners young and old, and representatives from New Yorkers for Parks, Green Guerillas, Sunshine Farms, East New York Farms!, Sustainable Flatbush, More Gardens!, Hattie Carthan Community Garden and Market, EcoStation: NY, Carrie McCracken Garden, Just Food, and El Flamboyan Garden.
We were all glad to see Speaker Christine Quinn, who stopped by to voice her support, along with Council Member Melissa Mark-Viverito, a staunch ally and Chair of the NYC Council Parks & Recreation Committee.
