A proposal to create a Community Gardens District on the Lower East Side is going before the full Community Board 3 on Tuesday evening, January 27. We need all the support we can muster to get this proposal to pass. Working together we can do this!
We seek to establish a Community Gardens District to include all community gardens located within the boundaries of Community Board 3 (CB3), in Manhattan. These gardens would be mapped and designated as parks land, named a special district and continue to be managed by community based volunteers.

We are asking the City to map and designate these gardens as parklands, and to help up create a Community Gardens District to reflect the existence of such a large concentration of these wonderful assets in our community.
