Elizabeth Street Garden (ESG), ESG Chair Renee Green, and the Garden's creator Allan Reiver have filed a lawsuit against the City of New York and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) challenging their actions regarding environmental quality review of the proposal to destroy and develop Elizabeth Street Garden, a beloved community garden used by over 100k people every year.
ESG is committed to taking all available steps to protect and preserve this iconic community treasure.
