NYCCGC and our electeds officials continue talks with GreenThumb and City legal to correct flaws in the license.
At a City Council hearing on September 16th, Assistant Commissioner for Community Outreach and Partnership Development Sam Biederman testified that Parks is still in negotiations. Parks Department spokesman Dan Kastanis said in a statement, "we currently have no plans to lock out gardeners."
We know this is a difficult time and that GreenThumb continues to pressure gardeners to sign. Please stay resolute in this fight. 30% of the community gardens still are unsigned. Political pressure is how we will win a fair license.
Send the Mayor, your City Council member and State officials your concerns. At the City Hall rally, many of them said they would help. Make sure they do!
