Founded in 1996, it is the mission of the New York City Community Garden Coalition to promote the preservation, creation, and empowerment of community gardens through education, advocacy, and grassroots organizing.
NYCCGC general meetings are open to all and held on the third Thursday of every month; during the colder months we usually meet in the East Village at the Neighborhood Preservation Center (232 East 11th St); during the gardening season we like to hold our meetings outdoors in gardens so that we get a chance to see what different groups are up to.
Maybe your garden will play host to a CGC meeting this year? We’d love to hear from you.
